Conditions were perfect for the 15th Rylock Opening Splash since the race began in 2008.
Hayden Squance and Blenheim swimmer Chris Smithers reversed their finish order from last year, with Hayden taking first place in 24.56.
Marcell Kepess finished third, ahead of Waimea College principal Fraser Hill, then Hayden Lockie.
Keshia Linyard took sixth place (just ahead of her father Jon) to win the women’s section from Jodie Lovell from Marlborough, Sophie Pahl and Christina Harris – these three separated by only three seconds.
Doug Hancock and Rosie Pope took the first two places in the short swim.
